Annie is currently researching patterns of digit reduction and hind limb anatomy in theropod dinosaurs. This may have implications for musculature, biomechanics, and the evolution of locomotion including flight. Annie also supervises volunteers during fossil preparation sessions and has been involved in a variety of fieldwork stints every summer.
Annie hails from Chicago, Illinois, and volunteered at the Field Museum. She earned a BSc Biology and Geology from Northern Arizona University in 2012 and a MSc Paleobiology from DePaul University in 2016. Her master’s research focused on the correlation between claw shape and niche in modern birds to investigate potential behaviours in extinct birds.
