Qamanirjuaq caribou movement and habitat use
Barren-ground caribou (Rangifer tarandus groenlandicus) are an ecologically and socioeconomically important species in Canada. Globally, many caribou populations are in decline and there is great interest in understanding the mechanisms of these declines. Working with the Government of Nunavut, I will be investigating how Qamanirjuaq caribou use and move through the landscape and how variation in their environment affects the herd’s movement and distribution.
