About

I have broad interests that investigate the interactions between animals and their environment. Specifically, my lab investigates how both natural (environmental physiology) and anthropomorphic-induced (toxicology) changes in the environment affect animal physiology. More recently, I have developed a program of research that works in the broad area of Watershed science to improve our understanding for ensuring safe, clean water for our future. Research philosophy and research goals

My research philosophy is to encourage students to learn and perform research in areas that they find interesting. Graduate students and PDFs studying under my research direction are encouraged to seek collaborative opportunities, discuss and debate their interests and ideas, and take ownership of their research goals. I strongly encourage students to pursue opportunities for study and travel abroad through participation in international and national conferences and through the application for joint research initiatives.
