Dinotour 2023

The Dinosaur Research Institute (DRI) based in Calgary, Alberta, is offering the ultimate bus tour to experience a highlight of Alberta palaeontology: Grande Prairie! On this trip, you will get:

  • A behind-the-scenes tour of the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum plus experience using a microscope to search for microfossils, with time to explore the museum galleries
  • The chance to excavate fossils from the famous Pipestone Creek Bone Bed
  • A rafting trip down the Wapiti River
  • A visit to a dinosaur quarry in the Grande Prairie area
  • A hike in the Kleskun Hill Natural Area

…all under the guidance of world-renowned scientists, palaeontologists Dr. Philip Currie and Dr. Corwin Sullivan and palaeobotanist Dr. Eva Koppelhus!

University of Alberta Museums is looking for senior undergraduate students to apply for the 2023 University of Alberta Museums Summer Internship in Museum Innovation.

Call for Speakers! – The Alberta Palaeontological Society

The Alberta Palaeontological Society in conjunction with the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists will have their last online presentation on September 16, 2022. The live presentations will commence on October 21, 2022.

The Alberta Palaeontological Society is organizing speakers for its upcoming events in 2022 and 2023. All events take place at Mount Royal University. We require one speaker per month on the dates listed below. In addition, we require eight speakers for Paleo (Symposium) 2023 on March 18, 2023:

  • Friday, February 17, 2023 (monthly presentation at 7:30 pm)
  • Saturday, March 18, 2023 (Paleo 2023, eight presenters, 9:00 am – 4:30pm)
  • Friday, April 21, 2023 (monthly presentation at 7:30 pm)
  • Friday, May 12, 2023 (monthly presentation at 7:30 pm)

Please consider presenting on one of these dates. You can present information about your research or another palaeontology topic of interest to you.
