Home / Amelia Wagner-Jones

Hi! I’m Amelia, an MSc student in the Tierney lab. I graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a BS in Biology focused on physiology. Growing up in Alaska gave me a deep appreciation for salmon and at UAF I was able to channel this in two years of salmon focused research that sparked my love of working with fish, electrically excitable cells, and investigating the effects of a warming climate on salmonids. In my MSc, I will be exploring the effects of temperature on olfaction, specifically in relation to imprinting and homing behavior, using zebrafish as a model organism. Outside of the lab, I enjoy biking, rock climbing, skiing, and creating art.
