This will be the seventh offering of this symposium. Past symposia have focused on vision, olfaction, taste, hearing, lateral line, magnetic and electroreception and the role they play in the physiology, behavior, and ecology of fishes. We encourage fish sensory biologists from all disciplines (physiology, ecology, behavior) and all senses to participate in the symposium and especially researchers in early career stages and that represent the diversity of people studying how fish investigate the world. For the 2026 Symposium, we especially encourage presentations that focus on the role of sensory systems in the context of the changing coastal environment that fish experience and the use of multiple sensory modalities to adapt to these changes.

If you would like more information, click here or reach out to Keith Tierney at ktierney@ualberta.ca.

Please join us in Vancouver for the 16th International Congress on the Biology of Fish.
