Although he has studied tyrannosaurids and other dinosaurs, this work only makes up a fraction of the diversity of his research. His work includes examination of marine reptiles and extinct mammals, most notably an early primate nicknamed \u201cIda\u201d after his daughter. Fieldwork includes digs in Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and the United States.
