Her honours thesis examined diagenesis of Triassic cynodont fossils. She also completed a MSc at the same university, describing a new Triassic cynodont, <em>Protuberum cabralensis<\/em>. Miriam joined the Currie Lab for her PhD, which focused on biomechanics of theropod teeth, especially relating to the functional morphology of denticles (serrations). This project included other archosaurs with serrated teeth for comparative study.
