She received a PhD in Natural Sciences in 2009 at the National University of La Plata in Argentina. Phil was a supervisor during her PhD and postdoctoral research until 2011. She then became a dinosaur palaeontologist for CONICET (Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Cient\u00edficas y T\u00e9cnicas) at INIBIOMA (Instituto de Investigaciones en Biodiversidad y Medioambiente) in northern Patagonia, Argentina.
