Email Chelsea and sign up for Event Organizer Training<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Need to double check insurance practices<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Calendar of events<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hot Lunches: once per month or so, have a hot lunch that costs a little money (at cost). More casual events where a speaker comes to talk about varied events. For example, expenses with Dean, GSA Labour and Collective Agreement, MBSU, etc. Need to think of more. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Discussion with Marc Waddingham about BioSci Chair Search Committee<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What concerns do Grad Students have? What does that mean we want the new BioSci Chair to agree on? <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Supervisor and Grad relationship, is it a labour issue?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">TAships and RAships, and compensation. Including possible salary increase with increased years of teaching.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tuition and fees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mental health.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Post-grad employment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(BioSci) Administration and its breakdown. Needs to be more communication, more streamlined, they need to want to talk to us. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The instructor\u2019s track record and their relationship with (their) graduate students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">OHS includes proper treatment in the \u2018workplace\u2019. We need more reporting on this, and more talking about this. Need a structure in place to get concerns to the GSA. Great issue to keep on top of, might not be on issue here. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Make sure we have a chair willing to step up to talk about issues and challenge decisions or policies that are created. The chair dictates the community, the relationship between the faculty, staff, grad students, and undergraduates. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Need someone who is well rounded and understands that all parts of the faculties are important. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Will include Mark on the invites to previous exec meetings.
