Recap of Past events <\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 R.E. Peter \u2013 Success! Happy to have been at Faculty Club. Positive comments from attendees. Try to use that venue again for next year. Outgoing survey in the works. Undergraduate cheques to come from BGSA account \u2013 ISSS $ will be in a cheque.<\/p>\n \u2022 Chili cook-off \u2013 Not much work for BGSA this year! ~150 people attended. Ran out of beer and chili. Try to hype it up next year.<\/p>\n \u2022 Trivia \u2013 25 ppl attended. Ran it themselves for ~$50 \u2013 attendees preferred to the hired trivia person. Overall spend $70 on prizes (chocolate and pitchers). Willing to repeat again in April with the note to change location? Possibly Devaney\u2019s as they\u2019ve been incredibly welcoming.<\/p>\n Upcoming Events <\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Candidacy Prep \u2013 In the works to happen late March. Remember pizza is covered by the department \u2013 bring receipt to Dr Caldwell<\/p>\n \u2022 Writing workshop \u2013 Working on getting a time solidified with Tracy and James (at least one must be in attendance). Likely to happen 5-7 to avoid class conflicts. Looking for serially productive faculty members to speak.<\/p>\n \u2022 Curling \u2013 Saville deposit paid and booked for March 25. We have until one week before to decrease amount of ice and save $$. Theme selected: Disney\/pixar on ice! Posters to be designed and hung.<\/p>\n \u2022 Spring fundraiser \u2013 Dylan, Casey, Zach. Plan something (BBQ?) for early\/mid April<\/p>\n \u2022 Mentoring awards \u2013 Letters edited for Department award. Killam upcoming \u2013 Feb 24. Requires more effort. Will have 2 weeks for proofreading<\/p>\n \u2022 Budget \u2013 so far only spent money on snack room and curling which we expect to make back. Lots sitting in the bank.<\/p>\n \u2022 Snack room \u2013 Well taken care of. BGSA should get them a thank you! Phil will spearhead<\/p>\n \u2022 Elections upcoming! – have the waffles here?
