Henrik Thurfjell is a Post-Doc at the University of Alberta supported by the Carl-Trygger foundation. For his MSc he studied population dynamic of voles and willows in northern Norway, and for his PhD, he studied spatial behaviour of wild boar in Sweden, focusing on the effects of agriculture, hunting, traffic and weather.  He is now performing research on the behavioural ecology of elk in SW Alberta. In particular, he is currently studying elk movements from the US border to the Livingstone Range using recent developments with GPS radiotelemetry. Henriks focus is on the importance of learning and experience and on the effect of predators, including humans and hunting.
